I let my mind wander

As the evening bird called

Out to me: hello, it said.

Do you see me behind

The bushes? Even the

Flowering thicket has

It’s hidden thorns.

My consciousness was

Surfing the waves. Waves

Beyond the thicket. Again

It spoke to me: Can you

Hear me, gliding above

The tide? A sprint

Above the raging waters.

The houses are scattered

Along the bay. Likened to

My thoughts after the waters.

Rising and falling; man’s mimicry

Of the mountains. Above my bird

Flew high, as in a 21 gun salut

Against the setting sun, it

Bid me goodbye.

Constance my dear

Are you setting? In

Your fall, ease into

the ocean‘s dark

After a night full

Of unrest.

Constance, Constance

My dear. Are your waves

Simultaneously undulating?

Crest crashing, glistening

on the shore’s rocks.

Constance my dear

Are you awaken?

Morning sun washing

Over the mountain top.

In a moment you would be

Overhead, shining your

Way like a cobbler’s

Steady hand.
